Formally introducing the "Best of .... " Stamp Sets!

If you haven't heard, 2013 is Stampin' Up!s 25th Anniversary! Can you believe this business started out of someone's living room? Amazing!

As part of our 25-year anniversary celebration, we're bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release-one set per month-during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image!

Some things to remember:
  • All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $14.95.
  • While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
  • All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
While Stampin' Up! is  releasing just one stamp set per month, ALL of the sets will be available until March 31, 2014.

As a special incentive to collect the Best of stamps, included with your set, will be a collector's card and 25-year proof of purchase sticker with every Best of set. Collect six stickers, and send it in to redeem a FREE set of your choice valued up to $14.95! Free sets must be redeemed no later than April 30, 2014.

Stamp to the MAX March Blog Hop

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the March blog Hop! You have come from the blog of the always creative Stephanie Bradley. I am the 5th stop on the hop.

March is a great month because it usually marks the change from Winter to Spring..... usually. When I lived in Wisconsin where the only thing to expect in March was green beer and more Winter. Now that I am in Utah, the temps are much more moderate so I am hoping!

This card is made with one of our new stamps from the Single Stamp Assortment #3 and it's called Ears To You. These single stamps are a great bargain. This one was only $6.95. The single stamps only come in clear-mount so you will need a block.

I love this card because it's traditional, but not stuffy, for Easter. I have included lots of Spring colors that are perfect for the occasion. I hope you like it!

I embossed only half of the card front so that the DSP would lie flat. After cutting the Crumb Cake piece and piercing it, I sponged some white craft ink on it to soften the edges. I colored all the rabbits with markers and huffed on them to re-moisten before stamping. I stamped an extra blue rabbit and hand-cut it out. I covered it with glue and glittered it before popping it up on dimensionals. It's hard to see the glitter in the picture, but it's there!

All items are by Stampin' Up!

February Card Class

I really loved this class ... of course I say that about them all!  I would love for you to join us one day. We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm. You get 2 of each of the designs below plus the envelopes. Email me if you're interested.

The first card was pretty much stolen from the Stampin' Up! Corporate Blog. I loved how it looked and knew everyone else would too. This is gender neutral, which is hard to do! This card features one of the new Single Stamps in the Collection #4 Assortment. I hand drew a template for the sun and hand cut them. One stamp for like 6 bucks, some paper and glue and you're golden!

Items used are all from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Sunshine, Item code 132671
Paper: Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White CS, DSP from the Designer Series Paper Stacks - Brights Collection
Ink:  StazOn in Jet Black, SU Markers in: Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight
Tools: Scallop Trim Border Punch

This next card is my favorite because it's so elegant. This card technique is called Triple-Time. I saw it first on fellow demo, Dawn Olchefske's, website. She is amazing! If you would like measurements, email me and I will happily send them. You gather all the white and stamp on  it. In this case it was twice - both with background punches! We watercolored the poppies and separated the layers and matted them on the green. Just lovely!

Items used are all from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies and En Francais background stamps
Paper: Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla CS
Ink: StazOn in Jet Black, Crumb Cake. Colors used to water color were Calypso Coral, Certainly Celery and Old Olive
Embellishments: 5/8" Satin Ribbon in Certainly Celery (Ret)

Ok - now my favorite. (did I say that already?) This card uses the new By The Tide stamp set featured in our Spring Catalog. I am in landlocked Utah, but I really love the ocean. Not getting in it - but the sound, smell, seashells and good eats that come from it! This set really reminds me of the time when my family and I went to Nantucket and Maine. It's too bad that I was too young to appreciate it at the time. Anyway - this is also pretty gender neutral.

Items used are all from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: By The Tide and Sweet Essentials
Paper: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla CS
Ink: Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy and Lucky Limeade
Embellishments: Brights Designer Buttons in Pumpkin Pie and Linen Thread.

Time to play catch up!

Long time my thousands (ok dozen) blog followers. I apologize for the delay in posting. I hired someone to make a prettier blog for me. She is working hard but I think she feels it's the next Sistine Chapel because it's taking way too long. I avoid posting because I knew it would need to be moved. Oh well - maybe it will get done some day...

Anyway - Lets catch you up on specials. There are a lot. The main thing running now is our wonderful Sale-A-Bration. This is an annual event at Stampin' Up! For every $50 you spend, you get to choose something from the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) catalog. You can view the catalog on line or let me know you need one and I will pop it in the mail. It is - admittedly - difficult to see on-line. Getting to $50 should be a piece of cake since the new Spring Catalog is in full bloom... Check it out on my store. The link is www.lisaloostamps.stampinup.net and click on the SHOP NOW button under my name or the bottom of the page.

Next is our Sent With Love promo. You get a cute travel themed stamp set, glassine bags for little treats, exclusive DSP and Bakers Twine! This kit is priced at $25.50. The Stamp set and DSP are available separately. This is available till April 30th! I have a plyer for it too. The photo below does not do it justice!

There is more to come tomorrow! I don't want to overwhelm you all at once!

Sale-A-Bration is finally here!

What time is it?
It's Sale-A-Bration time!

Yes .... I just had the Howdy Doody theme in my head when I wrote that. Never mind that I am too young for Howdy Doody. One of the few things in life I am too young for .... but I digress.

It's the black Friday of the Stampin' Up! shopping year! For every $50 in regular merchandise you can choose a SAB item for free! There is no limit! Plus once your order hits $150, you qualify for Hostess Dollars too! How awesome is that!

Seeing the SAB brochure in person is much easier than on-line. It's a long accordian folded sheet with great graphics but does not translate well to a blog. If you need a SAB brochure mailed to you, please let me know.  Otherwise check it out here ...SALE-A-BRATION BROCHURE. Scroll to second page (the black one) for the products.

To order, go to my website at www.lisaloostamps.stampinup.net Click on shop now under my name and number or under Products. If you don't go through my website, you won't get Hostess Dollars. If you have any troubles at all, let me know. :)

Sale-A-Bration starts 1/22/13 Tuesday morning at 7:00 am MST and lasts through March 22, 2013.

The card below was featured before and uses the awesome Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. It's really one of my favorite DSP's.

Valentines Day ... January Class

Okay really - I am not a huge fan of Valentines Day. I don't know who to send Valentines to? I used to send them to my mother, my husband, a close friend or two and my in-laws. Of course my husband thought it was creepy that I sent them to my mom and his parents because in his mind Valentines Day is only for the one you play kissy face with. (men ....sigh)  I ignored him but wondered if I was weird? Anyway, I still make a few and they have such darn cute stuff now - how can I resist?

I love my cute ones but this is my favorite since it's outside my comfort zone. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it's elegant..

Better Late than Never!

Hello friends!

I had a fantastic group of ladies attend my card class in December. By this time, they may have been sick of Christmas cards but I still had (and still have) holiday stamps sets I hadn't used yet! So...of the 3 cards, 2 were still Christmas. Enjoy!

This first card uses the No Peeking set out of the annual catalog. I used our markers to color the penguin. I so did not want to have to cut out the hat and scarf! For the sentiment, I used the Ornament punch - but you may not be able to tell.. One thing that is hard to see in these pictures is the glitter. Under the penguin, to mimic snow, (well there is glitter in Utah snow!LOL!) I used a marker in Baja Breeze, ran my glue pen over it and added Dazzling Diamonds. I think it's really cute and I hope you do too!

All items are from Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: No Peeking
Ink: Baja Breeze, Lucky Limeade ink pads. Baja Breeze, Lucky Limeade, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black Many Marvelous Markers
Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White CS
Tools: Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, Ornament Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch
Embellishments: Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Certainly Celery ribbon (some special edition that I don't recal - Retired) Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

The next card is decidedly more traditional - with classic Christmas colors. It was hard for me to leave the bottom more plain, but in the end just the tree cutout worked. The white from the inside layer made it pop. I also used my markers on the pearls for the first time. I love how it turned out!

All items are from Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Joyous Celebration and More Merry Messages (inside)
Ink: Early Espresso and Garden Green ink pads. Real Red Marvelous Markers
Paper: Garden Green, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla CS, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Tools: Eyelet Border Punch (Retired) Extra LArge Oval Punch, Tree from Merry Minis Punch Pack, Ovals Collection Framelits (New! from Spring Catalog pre-view!), Holiday Frame Embossing Folder,
Embellishments: Basic Jewels Pearls

The last card is my generic masculine card. To say generic - I just mean that you could really use any sentiment with it. I brought out one of my faves - Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set,  and let the girls do their thing. I love the new embossing folder! If only we had a hexagon punch!! I popped a few hexagons out for interest.
